Room Descriptions & Mechanics

Entrance Hall

• Description:
  "You stand in a dimly lit entrance hall. Dusty shelves line the walls. A flickering bulb hangs above. Two doors lead out: one to the north and one to the east. A keypad-locked vault is embedded in the floor."
• Exits:
  • north → Puzzle Room
  • east → Storage Room
• Puzzle:
  Vault Lock
  • Clue: "The code is the atomic number of gold."
  • Solution: Enter 79 (atomic number of gold) to unlock a Lab Key.
  • Mechanic: Type use vault 79 to solve.

Puzzle Room

• Description:
  "A cold, sterile room with a locked door to the south. A holographic display projects a riddle: 'I speak without a mouth and hear without ears. I have no body, but I come alive with wind. What am I?' A keypad is beside the door."
• Exits:
  • south → Hidden Test Lab (locked)
  • north → Entrance Hall
• Puzzle:
  Riddle & Keypad
  • Riddle Answer: echo (wind creates echoes).
  • Keypad Code: 1946 (year the first computer, ENIAC, was invented).
  • Mechanic:
    1. Solve the riddle by typing solve echo.
    2. Enter the code 1946 via keypad (use keypad 1946).

Storage Room

• Description:
  "Metal shelves hold beakers and microscopes. A Chemical Keycard glints on a desk. A locked safe in the corner requires a 4-digit code."

• Items:
  • Chemical Keycard (unlocks the lab door).
• Puzzle:
  Safe Combination
  • Clue: "The code is the number of elements in the periodic table."
  • Solution: 118 (current elements as of 2023).
  • Mechanic: Type use safe 118 to open and find a Note.
• Note Content:
  "The lab door requires the Chemical Keycard and the vault key from the entrance hall."

Hidden Test Lab

• Description:
  "A high-tech lab humming with machinery. A glowing computer terminal flashes: 'ACCESS GRANTED'. You’ve found the hidden test lab!"
• Exits: None (win condition met).
• Entry Requirement:
  Must have the Lab Key (from Entrance Hall) and Chemical Keycard (from Storage Room).
  • Mechanic: Type enter lab when holding both items.

1. Start: Entrance Hall.
2. Solve Entrance Hall Puzzle:
   • Use the vault (use vault 79) to get the Lab Key.
3. Go to Storage Room:
   • Get the Chemical Keycard and solve the safe (use safe 118) for the Note.
4. Solve Puzzle Room:
   • Answer the riddle (solve echo) and enter the keypad code (use keypad 1946).
5. Enter the Lab:
   • Return to Entrance Hall and type enter lab (requires Lab Key + Chemical Keycard).
