Here is your itinerary for the Midnight Factory Tour:

The heavy steel doors groan open at exactly 12:00 AM. The air inside doesn't smell like industry; it smells of ozone, burnt sugar, and cold iron. "Welcome," the Guide says, his voice competing with the rhythmic thrum-hiss-thrum of the unseen machinery. "Please keep your arms and legs inside the cart. We wouldn't want the Stampers to mistake you for raw material."

Stop 1: The Furnace of Whispers

The first thing you notice isn't the heat, but the sound. It’s a low, guttural roar, like a jet engine breathing. In the center of the room, a massive crucible glows a violent, bruised purple.

  • What happens here: We burn the silence left over from the previous day.
  • Do not touch: The slag. It looks like solidified glass, but if you hold it, you’ll hear every secret told in confidence yesterday.

Stop 2: The Gear Forest

The catwalks here are slippery with mist. Above and below you, gears the size of city blocks interlock with terrifying precision.

  • The Schedule: The gears don't turn to make products; they turn to keep the Earth spinning. If this machine stops for even a second, Tuesday never ends.
  • Look up: You might see the Lubricators—small, mechanical spiders spraying a substance that looks like liquid starlight onto the cogs.

Stop 3: The Assembly Line of Lost Things

This is the most popular stop. A conveyor belt stretches into the darkness, carrying items that flicker in and out of existence.

  • The Product: Here, we reassemble the things you thought you lost. Single socks. Childhood toys. The feeling of a summer day in 1998.
  • Quality Control: Watch out for the Quality Control Officer. He has no face, only a large scanner where his eyes should be. If he deems a memory "defective," he drops it into the Void. That’s why you can’t remember what you had for lunch three weeks ago.

Stop 4: The Packaging Room

The final stage. The air is thick with steam and the smell of rain on hot asphalt.

  • The Process: We wrap the finished products in shadows. Not just any shadows, but the specific shadows cast by streetlamps at 3:00 AM.
  • Shipping: The packages are loaded onto trains that travel on tracks made of moonlight, delivering the goods to dreamers around the world.

The End of the Line The cart rolls to a stop. The sun is beginning to crest over the horizon, turning the factory’s smokestacks into silhouettes.

"Thank you for visiting," the Guide says, checking a pocket watch that runs backward. "Please exit to the left. Don't look back at the factory. If you do, you might see it folding itself back into the ground, and the Management prefers to remain a secret."

The doors close.
