No — and in many cases it is still very much worth doing. If the balance payment has not been made, a verification or inspection gives you documented grounds to negotiate, delay payment, or walk away before committing the remaining funds. If production is underway, a factory inspection can catch quality or capacity problems while there is still time to address them — before the goods are finished and shipped. Even if the order is complete, a supplier risk report on a company you intend to work with again is a sound investment. The most useful time to verify is before any money moves, but the second most useful time is right now, whatever stage you are at.
